Fire Suppression

Rapid fire knockdown in less than 10 seconds

Fire suppression systems protect a wide range of hazards and industrial processes. Our track record and technical competence to plan, install and commission suppression systems make us the first choice for major companies seeking to protect their mission critical systems.

The range of components available from Firetecnics™ enables systems to be engineered to suit individual requirements. The systems we can design, supply install and maintain include:

  • Fire protection fluid discharged as gas
  • Inert gas agents
  • Compressed gas
  • Carbon dioxide
  • Water mist
  • CO2 flood systems
  • Cooker hood fire suppression

Supressing fire in occupied areas with FM-200

HFC-227ea (FM-200) is a compressed gas fire extinguishing agent that can be used to protect a wide range of areas. It is stored as a liquid and dispensed as a clear, odourless and electrically non-conductive vapour that does not obscure vision. At a controlled concentration it can be suitable for occupied areas because it doesn't displace oxygen.

FM-200 has a zero ozone-depletion potential and a short atmospheric lifetime so it's environmentally acceptable. The extinguishing gas works primarily by physically absorbing heat so that the temperature of the flame falls to a point below which it cannot spread.
